Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we use it and what your rights are. It has been prepared in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act.

Who processes your data

The data controller is the cardiology practice Kardiolog Plovdiv – Dr Atanas Angelov and Dr Petar Georgiev, Filipopolis Medical Centre, 9 Vasil Aprilov Blvd., 1st floor, office 6, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

What data we collect

When you write to us using the contact form, we receive:

• your full name;
• your email address;
• your phone number – only if you provide it;
• the content of your message.

Please do not send detailed medical information, test results or documents through the form. We will discuss them in person at your appointment.

The website does not require registration and does not collect any other personal data.

Why we use your data

We use your data solely to respond to your enquiry – for example to reply, call you back or arrange an appointment. We do not use it for advertising and do not share it with third parties for marketing.

Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box in the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and taking steps at your request before a possible consultation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Who else has access to your data

To deliver your message to us, the website uses the following providers, which process data on our behalf:

• Web3Forms – a service that forwards the message from the form to our email;
• Google (Gmail) – the email service in which we receive messages.

These providers may process data outside the European Union in compliance with the GDPR requirements for such transfers.

How long we keep your data

We keep messages for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and no longer than 12 months after our last correspondence, unless the law requires otherwise. If you later become our patient, medical records are kept in accordance with the rules for medical documentation.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your data and receive a copy;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased;
• restrict processing;
• withdraw your consent at any time – this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
• object to processing.

To exercise your rights, email us at kardiolog.plovdiv@gmail.com. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (www.cpdp.bg).

Cookies and third-party services

Google Analytics – only with your consent. On your first visit the website shows a banner. If you click “Accept”, Google Analytics (a service of Google Ireland Limited) is loaded, which we use to collect aggregated visit statistics – for example which pages are opened, how long they are viewed, the type of device and the country or city visitors come from. Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies, which last up to 2 years. We do not use this data for advertising and do not link it to your identity. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google may also process data in the United States under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. If you click “Decline”, Google Analytics is not loaded and no such cookies are set.

Your choice. It is stored in your browser (the “kp-cookie-consent” entry in localStorage) for 12 months, after which the banner is shown again. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Google Maps. The Home and Contact pages include an embedded Google Maps map, which is shown without consent. When it loads, Google receives technical information such as your IP address. If you are signed in to a Google account, your browser may also send Google its own cookies in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.

The website uses no other cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when new features are added to the website. The current version is always published on this page with the date of the last change.
